Public Consultation
We provide consultation services to LEAs and to individual schools to help them communicate with their key stakeholders while developing their strategies and during other periods of change. We also undertake extensive public consultation to support development proposals, such as a planning application for a new school or enabling development (e.g. residential housing) to fund a project.
Consultation for Schools.
In order to successfully manage a period of change or transformation, it is important for schools to consult with their stakeholders. Consultation for schools often involves engaging with governing bodies, teachers, parents, pupils and community users about changes such as the disposal of playing fields and / or schools sites, school mergers or closures or the transformation of buildings.
Changes need to be communicated clearly and two-way channels of communication should be put in place to ensure meaningful dialogue and feedback. External audiences such as the media, local councillors and service providers must also be considered in this process.
We plan, organise and facilitate the entire consultation process to ensure that any changes a school faces are communicated effectively to its key stakeholders.
Consultation for Development Proposals
Stakeholder engagement and winning public support is vital to the success of any development proposal. Our services are focused on devising and implementing dedicated public affairs and communications strategies to inform development proposals and promote planning applications – with a view to minimising objections, mobilising support and ultimately winning consent.
We believe in fully engaging with local people from a very early stage in the process. This allows concerns to be addressed before they become issues and ultimately leads to an inclusive solution for all concerned.
Our services include: research and strategy; community consultation; political liaison; media relations; and SCI compliance.
