October 2008 - Hereson School, Broadstairs, Kent

As part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, Hereson School will be merging with Ellington School for Girls at the new school site at Pysons Road.

TCA Property is organising the next phase of the on-going consultation process for Oldborough and Senacre Schools, which commenced in 2006. A public exhibition to explain the current plans for Oldborough and Senacre Schools has been scheduled for 16 May 2007. A planning application has been submitted by Kent County Council to provide a new Academy on the Oldborough Manor site, replacing the worn out buildings at both the Oldborough Manor and Senacre Schools. In order to fund the new school, a residential development on the site of Senacre School is proposed and a second planning application has been made for this.
March 2007 - Creation of a new ‘Double Academy’, New Line Learning, Maidstone, Kent
DfES (Department for Education and Skills) recently made a decision to approve Kent County Council’s / New Line Learning’s ‘expression of interest’ for proceeding with the feasibility work for the creation of a new ‘Double Academy’, comprising the merger of Senacre and Oldborough as a single academy and the operation of Cornwallis School as a single academy.
The SPD process was overtaken in February 2007 by Kent County Council’s urgent need to progress the Academies proposal in order to secure Government funding. The SPD process was therefore dropped in favour of a Development Brief and subsequent outline planning applications for both the Oldborough Manor and Senacre sites.
TCA Property will be preparing both planning applications and undertaking the necessary community consultation.
